Find an article from a newspaper, journal, or the world wide web. It must be from a legitimate source – blogs are not acceptable! You may only use an article from a source one time (so you cannot use two articles from CNN, for example).
Print a hard copy of the article. When doing so, try to minimize paper used by not printing pictures, and other unnecessary things. Do not print in color.
Provide the following information about your article (a hard copy will need to be submitted with your article):
Title of the extract (article)
Source of the extract (provide a working URL)
Date of the extract
Brief explanation of the article – 10–15 sentences maximum. Be sure to focus on the economics of the article and fill in the blanks – tell us what economic concepts are "hiding" in the article.
List and define any and all vocabulary terms from the article or related to the article.
Create an appropriate graph which is related to the article.
Provide some sort of evaluation of the economics of the article. Do you, as an economist, agree or disagree with the article? Is it a good idea/policy? What are the potential effects of it? Who may benefit or be hurt? Are there any mistakes? Etc…
